Normal Procedures Checklists / Abnormal and Emergency Checklists

The Regulatory Authorities now have to approve all pilots' checklists and, for AOC Operators, the JAA require them to be in an acceptable format - a design that takes into account Human Factors, the working environment in which they are used, their ease of use and their applicability for the type being operated.

Printed on indestructible materials in a format designed by pilots for pilots, Newbould & Ritchie Ltd checklists are preferred by business aviation worldwide. Using research undertaken by NASA and ensuring the information required is on the right page at the right time, N&R checklists have been taken up by a number of Operators as the best solution to this key area of aircraft safety.

Many Operators use generic Abnormal / Emergency Checklists that are completely inappropriate and which should not be used. Each type operated should have its own bespoke Abnormal/ Emergency Checklist. Should an incident occur, pilots using generic checklists will be found to be culpable.
